A report from the IBM Institute for Business Value entitled 'Navigating the media divide' introduced me to this word. Slow as usual. But what did it exactly mean?
The report itself suggested that "This model makes professionally produced content available in open channels, without proprietary access “walls” or dedicated devices. Leading examples include BBC’sinteractive player, BitTorrent with Warner Bros Entertainment, and abc.com".
So a bit like the Guardian putting it's video here on YouTube
Still slightly confused about the hyper bit, a quick search found Forrester saying "As the Web multiplies consumer access points, hypersyndication delivers what consumers want -- personalized, congruent bundles of content, commerce, services, and applications."
So there we go.
